D.A.R.E “Does Not Work”

Throughout my entire life, all of my drug or anti-drug education has been pretty ineffective. I accredit this to anti-drug educators being uninformed about drugs beyond the US Government’s idealistic stance on controlled-substances and underage consumption.

These unrealistic viewpoints pretty much kill any credibility the program might have had, not to mention the mixed messages being broadcast on VH1 and MTV (A gaggle of drunken prostitutes clamoring for the attention of an aged rocker, followed by a PSA about teen responsibility and drunk driving).

Anyways, in 2001, the Surgeon General of the United States placed the D.A.R.E. program in the category of “Does Not Work.”

Time for a new approach, America.
